Meet Ella

Ella & her babies came to us 2 days back. Since we are in quarantine, Zulfishan Durrani went all the way to rescue & drop them to us.

Ella was reported by Kulsoom. As per her, the girl had grown up on her street and was raised by 5 teenage boys. By the time of her rescue Ella has had 2-3 litters, and is almost 1.5-2 years old. However, Ella's story isn't your average rescue story...

As per kulsoom, Ella has been repeatedly subjected to sexual abuse & has been raped by the boys who bought her up. She mentions that she has tried to stop them multiple times but because of a lot of factors, she hasn't been able to. So much so, that the police hadn't been able to help as she didn't have enough proof.

Kulsoom has seen them tie Ella's mouth, throat & front legs & perform leud acts on her. She has also seen them tie other dogs the same way & take them into an empty shop. We shudder to think what must have been going on behind those doors.

When we got Ella, our immediate aim was to get a medical report to file an FIR. However, currently there is no evidence of abuse visible, no tears & nothing to show that the girl went through something this terrible. As per her rescuer, the last time ella was subjected to abuse was 4 months ago, on her last heat cycle...

We are working with the rescuer to get these monsters caught, but for now we are going to do everything in our power to keep Ella safe, happy, healthy and loved. This is the least we can do given the terrible life and horrific abuse she has been through.

We wonder how many other Ella's there are out there.. This is why Pakistan needs stricter laws in terms of pet ownership. Not everyone should be allowed to keep a pet, & cases of abuse need to be dealt with, not brushed under the carpet..

This is an incredibly sensitive case, & the entire team has been greatly affected by it. The process of getting justice for ella will be a little slow because of the current pandemic but we promise we wouldn't give up.
